INCYTON® TECHNOLOGY WORLD

By combining the finest technology and passion,
INCYTON® creates added value for the customer.

AUTOMATED INVERTED MICROSCOPY SYSTEM

We utilize inverted microscope technology developed specifically for INCYTON®  from TILL I.D. GmbH (Munich, Germany). The microscopes are reduced to their essential functions in a smart way and thus are optimized in size, weight, and functional range. Great care was taken to use as few moving parts as possible, resulting in greater mechanical durability. The only moving part is the ultra-fast voice-coil actuator for the objective lens`s Z-axis (focus), where a movement resolution in the sub-micrometer range is made possible.

In combination with a 4K camera, high-resolution inverted microscopy on living cells can be performed. Simultaneously, the adapted read-out technology for optochemical sensors (fluorescence lifetime measurement) can be applied to the microscope optics, without interfering with the imaging. This makes it a powerful tool for parallel imaging and sensor read-out.

The microscope system is completed by self-developed components from INCYTON®On the one hand, we have a microscope illumination setup, which creates controllable light patterns, and on the other hand, there is an XY-stage that is accurate to the micrometer and positions the microscope precisely under the software-defined location.

OPTOCHEMICAL pH AND O₂ MEASURING

INCYTON® integrates non-invasive, real-time, label-free sensor technology in its platform solutions for the measurement of pH and dissolved O. This accurate measuring method is provided by PreSens Precision Sensing GmbH (Regensburg, Germany) and is optimized for our microscope system. The non-invasive sensors change their fluorescent lifetime depending on the analyte and can be read-out in realtime by the measuring technology specifically designed for this task. In conjunction with the INCYTON® fluidics technology, the interferencefree monitoring of metabolic key parameters of living cells, such as glycolysis and oxidative phosphorylation, is made possible.

CELLULAR IMPEDANCE

Impedance sensing is a non-invasive technology to monitor cellular morphologic conditions. INCYTON® applies this powerful technology in its measuring systems to monitor cellular proliferation and response to treatment in real-time. Therefore, the cells are cultivated on microelectrodes which direct a harmless electrical microcurrent through the cells and the surrounding medium. As result, an electrical alternating current resistance (impedance) can be monitored by precise measuring technology (self-developed by INCYTON®). This impedance changes depending on the morphologic status of the cell.

MULTICHANNEL
PIPETTING  ROBOT

INCYTON® developed a special so called “Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm” (SCARA) with multichannel pipetting head for automated media manipulation. This very compact unit can fully automated and precisely add, remove and mix up to 200µl liquid media to and from culture well plates by utilizing sterile micropipette tips. This puts it in the position to support cell-based assays from simple pipetting schemes like culture media exchange to complex tasks like accurate to the second multi-substance applications or washout experiments.

MICROFLUIDIC TECHNOLOGY

Changes that are triggered by something as small as cells can only be sensibly measured in a microenvironment. INCYTON® has integrated this technology into a multiwell plate, in which the cells can be examined and treated with low shear forces. In combination with our real-time sensors, reaction kinetics of different cell populations can be recorded in parallel.

CUSTOMIZED ATMOSPHERE CHAMBER TECHNOLOGY

The Atmosphere Chamber brings together all INCYTON® technology under its roof. This customized for INCYTON® manufactured key component can provide the fully automated atmospheric control (temperature, humidity, gas composition), which is essential for the accurate measuring of sensor equipment. Additionally, it generates a shelter against external influences for your biological samples and media.

RAPID 3D PROTOTYPING

Today, fast adapting development increments are demanded by the market. Therefore, INCYTON® implemented rapid 3D prototyping in its processes. Using high-precision resin SLA printing technology from Formlabs (Somerville, USA) we are able to manufacture functional prototypes with relatively low costs over night. This enables us to respond to necessary changes without any delays.
